Lauren White-Johnson is an experienced board certified licensed mental health counselor practicing in Orland Park, IL. Lauren provides counseling and psychotherapy services to adults and couples experiencing a wide variety of problems that include but are not limited to anxiety disorder, communication problems, difficulty with work-life balance, depression, grief, and a myriad of other stressors that are barriers to daily functioning.
Lauren’s philosophy is to provide her client’s with tailored treatment plans that can be integrated into their daily lives. She utilizes established clinical protocols that incorporate empirical and current therapeutic outcomes, that are beneficial to the client, while providing a nurturing clinical environment that empowers the individual to face and conquer the issues and stressors they believe are the cause of disruption or imbalance in their daily life.
Lauren has completed specialized training in contextual behavioral approaches to therapy including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral techniques. She values treatments that allow the client to develop skills to effectively change behavior.
Prior to becoming a full-time mental health counselor, Lauren worked in executive senior management and has taught at several Illinois institutions of higher learning. Moraine Valley Community College, North Eastern IL University, and Chicago State University’s Department of Psychology. She has also served as Professional Advisor to DePaul University students.
Lauren completed her undergraduate degree at DePaul University and her Master’s of Arts in Professional Counseling at Argosy University, Chicago campus.
