Sandy Esparza, LCSW
Sandy Esparza is passionate about education and is committed to lifelong learning. She earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from DePaul University and a Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. She is specialized in the needs of Children and Families, and also has a Child Welfare license. Sandy continues to reinforce her learning and enhance her clinical lens through continued education to equip her to address the changing needs of her clients.
Sandy Esparza is dedicated to providing a safe, empathetic, and inclusive environment that fosters reflection and promotes a deeper understanding of self. In addition to private practice, Sandy works as a trauma therapist in the nonprofit sector, where she earned a Client Impact Award for her dedication to quality service. Sandy is currently participating in a Child Parent Psychotherapy cohort that promotes attachment and trauma recovery, which impacts individuals across the lifespan.
As a trauma therapist, Sandy has provided trainings to other mental health professionals, in addition to community programs that seek to understand the impact of developmental trauma. Sandy is trained in a variety of treatment modalities and believes that educating others allows her to share her passion for reaching those in need. Sandy has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, Attachment-Based therapy, as well as integrating the past and present self through trauma recovery treatment. Sandy is dedicated to meeting the needs of each client; this includes identifying oppressive and cultural factors that must be accounted for when understanding the whole person.
